Engineering Design Services for Proposed Dewatering System at The Wilderness Golf Course

Background

The City of Lake Jackson is seeking sealed Qualifications Statements from firms that can demonstrate the resources, experience, and qualifications to provide quality Engineering Design Services for the proposed Dewatering Capital Improvement Project at the Wilderness Golf Course. The goal is to select a consultant to prepare a preliminary engineering design proposal for a reliable self-contained and remotely operated dewatering system independent of the existing system.

Work Details

The engineering design services required include: - Preparing a general process package to specify an axial or alternative high specific speed diesel-driven pump to forward water from the pond adjacent to hole number 4 to Buffalo Camp Bayou, approximately 300 ft away, with a nominal dewatering rate of 8000 gpm. - Proposing line sizing and material specifications for the pipeline to achieve the flow objective with a minimum design life of 20 years. - Validating head requirement differential between the main pond on hole 2 and hole 4 necessary to maintain nominal flow. - Providing an appropriately sized diesel fuel storage system capable of operating the pump for at least 10 days during extended power outages, designed to prevent fuel release during flood events. - Outlining civil work requirements for installing the pump, diesel engine, piping, and maintenance access. - Proposing a remote-operated control and monitoring system for pump operations that can function without power for at least 15 days.

Period of Performance

The project is targeted for authorization in January 2027, with qualifications due by June 24, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at The Wilderness Golf Course located in Lake Jackson, Texas.

Bidder Requirements

Firms must demonstrate their ability to begin work immediately upon contract execution and complete all project tasks as specified. They must also provide evidence of experience with similar projects and include biographies of key staff assigned to this project.
