James P. Nix Promenade Repairs & Improvement Project

Background

The City of Fairhope, located in Baldwin County, Alabama, is undertaking the James P. Nix Center Promenade Repairs & Improvement Project to enhance the structural integrity and safety of the promenade areas. The project aims to address deteriorated structural components while ensuring that pedestrian access and the overall aesthetic of the facility are maintained.

Work Details

The project involves selective demolition, temporary shoring, structural repairs, and rehabilitation of the west and south promenade structures at the James P. Nix Center. Specific tasks include: 1. Repair and replacement of deteriorated structural framing members. 2. Installation of supplemental supports and reinforcement of structural connections. 3. Restoration of load paths while maintaining existing concrete promenade integrity. 4. Installation of approximately 313 linear feet of 42-inch-high aluminum guardrails, which will be powder-coated black and include posts, rails, balusters, and connections as per design specifications. 5. Temporary shoring to support existing structures during repairs. 6. Compliance with local building codes and regulations throughout all phases of construction.

Period of Performance

The contract performance period is set for ninety (90) calendar days following a fifteen (15) day Notice to Proceed period.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the James P. Nix Center located at 1 Bayou Drive, Fairhope, Alabama.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid Alabama General Contractor License and a City of Fairhope Business License prior to commencing work. Additionally, bidders are required to provide proof of insurance and bonding as specified in the contract documents.
