INTRODUCTION Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) has a need for aluminide treatments (pack-cementation or CVD) for Nickel-Chromium Alloy 230 substrates capable of withstanding high-temperature oxidation reaching or exceeding 2000 F. Discussion of other methodologies is acceptable. The primary requirements are: 1. Aluminide Treatments for Straightener Mesh - The substrate shall be a nickel-chromium Alloy 230 wire mesh directly exposed to dry air flow. It has a wire diameter of approximately 0.100 inches, and a total cross-sectional diameter of approximately 1 foot. Adhesion of the treatment must be comparable to the substrate's strength. 2. Aluminide Treatments for Liners - The substrate will be welded, thin-walled, nickel-chromium Alloy 230 flow liners directly exposed to dry air flow. The liners are 2-5 feet long and 1-2.5 feet in diameter. Adhesion of the treatment must be comparable to the substrate's strength.
