Avenue 50 Irrigation Lateral Abandonments and Tile Drain Relocations

Background

The City of Coachella, a municipal corporation in California, is issuing this solicitation for the Avenue 50 Irrigation Lateral Abandonments and Tile Drain Relocations project (City Project No. ST-69). The project aims to abandon specific irrigation laterals and relocate existing tile drain facilities to enhance local water management and infrastructure.

Work Details

The project involves abandoning U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBOR) irrigation laterals numbered 108.2–3.9 and relocating existing tile drain facilities within Assessor Parcel Numbers (APNs) 778 170 009, 778 170 011, and 778 180 004. All construction activities must be performed in a workmanlike manner and meet the standards set by the City, the Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD), and the property owner, Peter Rabbit Farms. The Base Bid Area 1 Scope of Work must be completed within 40 Working Days from the Notice to Proceed. Successful bidders are required to provide Preliminary Project Schedules, Traffic Control Plans, and other specified submittals for review.

The contract work is expected to commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and must be completed within 40 Working Days.

The work will be performed in Coachella, California, specifically at the locations identified by Assessor Parcel Numbers (APNs) 778 170 009, 778 170 011, and 778 180 004.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a valid Class A (General Engineering) or Class C-34 (Pipeline Contractor) license as per California Business and Professions Code sections. All contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations for public works projects. A bid security of at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid price is required. Additionally, successful bidders must furnish a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
