The City of Phoenix is seeking offers for Theatrical Rigging services, specifically focusing on the inspection, maintenance, and repair of motorized and manual counterweight rigging systems. This initiative is part of the City’s commitment to ensuring the safety and functionality of its theatrical venues, including Symphony Hall, Orpheum Theatre, Herberger Theater Center, and South Ballroom Stage. The contract aims to provide comprehensive support for the rigging systems used in various performances and events at these locations.
The contract consists of two main parts: - Part A involves Motorized Rigging Systems Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair. - Part B covers Manual Counterweight Rigging Systems Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair. For Part A, the contractor will conduct annual onsite inspections over a five-year period starting October 1, 2026. For Part B, inspections will occur annually over a three-year period beginning November 1, 2028. Inspections must include a thorough assessment of all components including head blocks, loft blocks, tension blocks, mule blocks, arbors, wire ropes, termination connections, battens, traveler track systems, T-Track/T-Bar guides, pin rails, and overhead stage electric pipe cable pickup terminations. All repairs must be pre-approved by the Authorized Department Representative (ADR). Additionally, contractors must provide at least one Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP) Theater Certified Rigger for Part B.
The contract for Motorized Rigging Systems will commence on or about October 1, 2026 and last for five years. The Manual Counterweight Rigging Systems contract will begin on or about November 1, 2028 and last for three years.
The services will be performed at various venues in Phoenix including: - Symphony Hall (75 N. 2nd Street) - Orpheum Theatre (203 W. Adams Street) - Herberger Theater Center (222 E. Monroe Street) - South Ballroom Stage (33 S. 3rd Street).
Bidders must have been in operation for a minimum of five years providing similar services. They are required to submit a complete certificate of insurance upon notification of an award within 14 calendar days. Offers must include all necessary forms as specified in the solicitation documents.
