TxDOT Aviation Division - Cherokee County Airport Project

Background

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Aviation Division is issuing a solicitation for the construction of airport improvements at Cherokee County Airport. The goal of this contract is to facilitate the relocation of the South Parallel Taxiway, enhancing the operational capacity and safety of the airport.

Work Details

The construction work consists primarily of the South Parallel Taxiway relocation project at Cherokee County Airport. The Engineer's Estimate of Probable Cost for this project includes a Base Bid of $2,241,459.00 and an Additive Alternate 1 amounting to $884,515.00. Bidders must submit a complete Bid Package which includes:

Bid Form

- Bid Bond (including Power of Attorney)

Required Language in Proposals for AIP Contracts

- Certification Regarding Debarment, Suspension, Ineligibility and Voluntary Exclusion

Certification of Non-Segregated Facilities

- DBE Participation Plan that must be submitted no later than 5 calendar days from bid opening.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from the date of award until completion, with bids due by 1:00 PM on July 9, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Cherokee County Airport located at 420 CR 1618, Rusk, Texas 75785.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders are required to provide a cashier’s check or bid bond in the amount of two percent (2%) of the total bid price as a guarantee. They must also meet eGrants minimum system requirements and furnish Performance and Payment Bonds executed by an authorized surety company. Additionally, bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and ensure that disadvantaged business enterprises are afforded full opportunity to submit bids.
