The Augusta Procurement Department, on behalf of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB #26-400) for the replacement of the fire alarm system at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the facility's fire alarm system meets current safety standards and operates effectively to protect the lives and property of those within the facility.
The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary services for the Fire Alarm System Replacement at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center located at 1941 Phinizy Rd., Augusta, GA 30906. The scope of work includes: 1. Replacement/repair of the existing fire alarm system, including field addressable devices and AV devices as per Attachment 1 - 2025 Annual Fire Alarm Inspection and Testing Certificate. 2. Installation of new system and device wiring. 3. Conducting inspections and testing of the fire alarm system upon completion of the project, with deliverables including a full system report and a final project report detailing system name, part number, description, and quantity of devices installed. 4. The contractor must provide all tools, materials, supplies, equipment, machinery, and transportation necessary to execute this contract. 5. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday unless otherwise approved by an authorized representative for the Owner.
The anticipated start date for this project is August 3, 2026. The vendor is required to have all materials and staff available to begin services on or before this date.
All work will be performed at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center located at 1941 Phinizy Rd., Augusta, GA 30906.
Bidders must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Fire Alarm Services. They must also provide proof of licenses and permits required to perform services under this contract prior to service commencement. Additionally, contractors must ensure that all employees undergo a mandatory background check as required by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
