Deer Fence Removal North

Background

The Pennsylvania Game Commission, Bureau of Wildlife Habitat Management, Forestry Division, is seeking contractors for the removal of woven wire deer exclosure fences as part of their wildlife habitat management efforts. The goal of this contract is to dismantle and remove approximately 21,350 linear feet of fencing across various state game lands in the Northwest and Northeast regions of Pennsylvania.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, and materials necessary for the removal of the woven wire deer exclosure fence. Specific tasks include: - Removing all woven wire from trees, posts, and supports; - Dismantling all fence supports; - Cutting wooden posts flush to the ground if complete removal is not possible; - Removing walk-through and vehicle gates; - Ensuring that all materials not retained by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) are disposed of properly. The contractor must also seed disturbed areas with wheat or oats during specified seasons and repair any rutted areas caused by their work. Additionally, all trash generated during the project must be removed.

Period of Performance

The contract term will commence on July 1, 2026, and terminate on June 30, 2027. All work must be completed by the termination date.

Place of Performance

The work will take place on various blocks within state game lands located in Warren County (Northwest Region) and Bradford County (Northeast Region), Pennsylvania.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide proof of Workmen’s Compensation insurance and Comprehensive General Liability Insurance with minimum coverage amounts specified. They are also required to furnish performance security in the amount of $2,500 per line item within 30 days after bid award notification. Bidders must comply with specifications outlined in all attachments and provide references for similar work performed in the past two years.
