Automobile Repairs - Citywide

Background

The City of Bridgeport is seeking bids for automobile repair services to support its municipal operations. The goal of this contract is to establish a qualified bidder list for on-call auto repair services, ensuring that the City has access to reliable and timely vehicle maintenance and repair solutions. The selected contractor will provide task-based services as needed, contributing to the efficient operation of the City's fleet.

Work Details

The contractor will provide on-call auto repair services as specified in the Bid Solicitation. Services include but are not limited to: performing repairs on various types of vehicles, providing written estimates prior to commencing work, and ensuring all parts and materials meet manufacturer specifications. The contractor must maintain accurate records of labor hours worked and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. All repairs must be performed by licensed professionals with at least two years of experience in the auto repair business. The contractor shall also retain all replaced parts for inspection by the City.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon the Effective Date in 2026 and will continue for an initial term of two years, with an option for one additional year at the City's discretion.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed within the geographic boundaries of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must be licensed by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles and have been engaged in the auto repair business for a minimum of two years. Subcontracting requires prior written approval from the City’s Director. Contractors must also provide proof of insurance coverage as specified in the Insurance Rider.
