Background

The City of Sylvania is soliciting Letters of Interest from qualified Consultants to provide Professional Surveying and Design Engineering Services for the Highland View Drive/San Benito Drive/San Reno Drive Waterline Improvements Project. This project aims to replace aging waterlines that were installed prior to 1959, enhancing the city's water infrastructure without federal funding.

Work Details

The Consultant will provide engineering services to replace approximately 2,500 feet of existing water mains with new 8-inch water mains, including new services and appurtenances. The specific tasks include: 1. Replacement of approximately 1,375 feet of existing 4-inch and 6-inch cast iron waterline on Highland View Drive. 2. Replacement of approximately 425 feet of existing 4-inch cast iron waterline on San Benito Drive. 3. Replacement of approximately 710 feet of existing 6-inch cast iron waterline on San Reno Drive. 4. All driveways will be replaced where the new main crosses, and the asphalt roadway will be resurfaced upon completion of the installation. 5. The Consultant is responsible for creating detailed construction plans adhering to ODOT Location and Design Manual requirements, including various sheets such as title sheets, general notes, waterline details, plan and profile sheets.

Period of Performance

The anticipated schedule includes authorization to proceed by July 27, 2026, with design completion expected by April 6, 2027. Construction is scheduled for Spring/Summer 2029.

The work will be performed in Sylvania, Ohio along Highland View Drive, San Benito Drive, and San Reno Drive.

Bidder Requirements

Consultants must be qualified under Ohio Revised Code 153.67 and are encouraged to submit Letters of Interest that demonstrate their capabilities in non-complex roadway design services. All work must be performed under the supervision of a Registered Land Surveyor in Ohio.
