BHM Runway 24 End Strengthening

Scope of Work

The primary objective of this contract is the reconstruction of the last 2,000 feet of Runway 24 at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. The work to be completed includes: - Pavement removal: approximately 40,244 square yards - Installation of cement treated soil base course: approximately 38,799 square yards - Placement of crushed aggregate base course: approximately 40,504 square yards - Application of asphalt mixture binder course: approximately 11,686 tons - Application of asphalt surface course: approximately 12,797 tons - Pavement marking: approximately 263,000 square feet - Pavement grooving: approximately 27,513 square yards
