Description Sources Sought RFI # 36C24827Q0002 This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposal or quotes and does not obligate the Government toward a contract. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification to include LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS AS WELL AS THE FOLLOWING: (Service Disabled owned, Veteran owned small business, Hub Zone, 8(a), small disadvantaged, women owned, small) relative to 541990, All Other Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (business size standard $19.5 Million). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After reviewing the responses to this Sources Sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in www.SAM.gov, also known as Contract Opportunities. Responses to this Sources Sought synopsis are NOT considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in order to be considered. The Department of Veterans Affairs, James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH), is seeking sources to provide Medical Physics Inspection Services. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, supplies, equipment, and qualified personnel to provide on-site diagnostic medical physics support or services for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), under the terms and conditions stated herein and must adhere to the Joint Commission requirements and standards for medical imaging as described/outlined in the DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS). If you are interested, and can provide the required services, please provide the requested information as indicated below. Responses to this notice shall include company name, address, point of contact, Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) Number, and size of business pursuant to the following questions: 1. Is your Business small? 2. If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emerging business, or small disadvantaged business? 3. Please list in your response a summary of your company s capabilities and ability to provide Medical Physics Inspection Services for JAHVH. Work Details The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, and qualified personnel necessary for the following tasks: 1. Conduct compliance inspections and acceptance testing of x-ray producing equipment; 2. Perform shielding design calculations; 3. Execute full inspections after any modifications or repairs; 4. Review and consult on Quality Assurance (QA) programs; 5. Provide survey reports; 6. Conduct quarterly inspections for Nuclear Medicine Units and annual inspections for other imaging equipment; 7. Ensure compliance with applicable Federal regulations and ACR recommendations; 8. Provide a patient exposure chart for common projections and procedures for each unit inspected; 9. Review CT protocols at least annually; 10. Attend Radiation Safety Committee meetings as needed; 11. Provide consultation and final reports for dose estimate calculations related to patient, staff, and fetal exposures. Place of Performance The services will be performed at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital located at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa, FL, as well as at affiliated outpatient clinics.
