Background The U.S. Coast Guard is issuing this contract for window repairs at Building 1790 (Hangar) located at Air Station Barbers Point in Kapolei, Hawaii. The mission of the Coast Guard includes ensuring the safety and security of its facilities. This contract aims to prevent water intrusion into the hangar by repairing its windows. Work Details The contractor shall perform the following tasks: 1. Remove and replace caulking and sealants on the outside of the ocean-facing windows of Building 1790, including areas between the metal frame and building as well as between the frame and glazing. Materials used must meet current codes and industry standards for exterior work. 2. Ensure that any finished product colors are as similar to existing colors as possible. If paint coating is required, apply primer and elastomeric coating according to manufacturer directions, ensuring it blends with existing colors and sheen. 3. Adhere to OSHA Safety and Health Standards during execution, providing necessary safety measures such as barriers and canopies. 4. Maintain an adequate inspection system to ensure compliance with contract requirements, keeping inspection records available for review. 5. All materials must be approved by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) before installation, including submission of manufacturer information and color samples for approval. 6. Conduct demolition carefully, patching areas with appropriate materials to match surrounding finishes while protecting existing work that remains in place or is reused. 7. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for all construction work while protecting landscaping from damage. Period of Performance The total period of performance is dependent upon contract award, with a maximum limit of 45 calendar days for on-site work.
