Background The Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is seeking a contractor to provide complete construction services for the Renovate Hot Lab project. This project aims at improving workflow efficiency and updating outdated components in the existing Hot Lab located in Room C212. The renovation will address hazardous materials and support nuclear medicine preparation needs. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, abatement, testing, and supervision required for the renovation of the Hot Lab. Key tasks include: - **Hazardous Materials**: Abatement/removal of asbestos-containing flooring and mastic; abatement/removal of asbestos-containing laboratory casework. - **Demolition**: Removal of two existing lavatory sinks; removal of existing casework, shelving, countertops, and wall-hung equipment; complete demolition of the existing fume hood; removal of acoustical ceiling grid and tiles; capping abandoned medical gas piping. - **New Construction**: Installation of new lead-lined base cabinets and countertops; installation of new upper wooden wall cabinets; installation of a new preparation enclosure; plumbing modifications including a new lead-lined sink/waste base cabinet; replacement of ceiling grid and tiles; installation of new electrical circuits and data/low-voltage connections; patching and painting walls. - **General Requirements**: Protect surrounding areas during construction, provide infection control barriers, coordinate with VA Engineering Service, and conduct Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) services for HVAC performance verification. Period of Performance All phases of work are to be completed within 150 calendar days after issuance of the Notice To Proceed (NTP). Place of Performance Work will take place in Building 1 Room C212 at the Cincinnati VAMC.
