Summary (Newest Update)

Background The US Army Special Operations Command is seeking to identify authorized and capable industry sources for maintenance and repair services of Bauer Air Compressors and Seccant Filtration systems at the Special Forces Underwater Operations (SFUWO) Schoolhouse in Key West, Florida. This request for information (RFI) aims to gather information from potential vendors to assess their capabilities and qualifications for fulfilling this requirement. The government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis if no other capable vendors are identified. Work Details The contract encompasses two main categories of tasks: planned maintenance and unplanned repairs. Planned maintenance will follow the Maintenance Schedule of Breathing Air Units Table from Bauer MNL-0401, with specific adjustments including: 1) Conducting two semi-annual air purity tests as per US Navy Diving Manual requirements; 2) Changing synthetic oil annually instead of every two years; 3) Adding an efficiency test every 18 months; 4) Utilizing maintenance kits based on usage rather than time, with a projected usage of 250 hours per year per compressor. The overall service requirements include checks and exchanges for various components such as pressure hoses, air purity tests, automatic condensate drains, electrical motors, emergency buttons, filter cartridges, oil exchanges, and overall system inspections on a periodic basis (monthly or annually).
