Background The Indian Health Service (IHS), an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, is responsible for providing federal healthcare services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. The IHS aims to raise the health status of these populations to the highest possible level through a comprehensive health service delivery system. The Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) serves approximately 35,000 Navajos and is located in a rural area of the Navajo Reservation in Chinle, Arizona. This facility provides various medical services including obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) care. Work Details The contractor will provide non-personal service OB/GYN physician healthcare providers to CCHCF. Key responsibilities include: - Providing outpatient and inpatient OB/GYN medical services. - Ensuring candidates meet minimum criteria: board certification or board eligibility, completion of US residency in OB/GYN, valid unrestricted DEA registration, no history of licensure loss or suspension, no drug abuse history, and no lapse in practice exceeding six months. - Maintaining accurate patient medical records with documentation of consultations, diagnoses, treatment plans, and medications administered. - Supporting continuity of care by recruiting qualified OB/GYN physicians within five days for replacements as necessary. - Adapting to CSU’s practice environment and collaborating with healthcare staff to ensure effective patient care delivery. Place of Performance Services will be performed at the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility's Women’s Health, Labor & Delivery, Obstetric Care Unit, Operating Room, Outpatient and Inpatient Departments, as well as other hospitals and clinics within the Navajo IHS Areas.
