Background The National Institutes of Health is conducting market research to determine the availability of small businesses capable of providing comprehensive janitorial services for the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). The goal of the contract is to maintain all NIEHS facilities in a condition free from filth and pathogens, enhancing the overall appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation of the site. Work Details The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, transportation, equipment, and supplies necessary to provide comprehensive janitorial services. Services include cleaning and maintenance of floors (both carpeted and non-carpeted), walls, chalkboards, marker boards, metal and ceramic fixtures, drinking fountains, microwaves, refrigerators, flat surfaces, chairs, showers, ceramic tile, walk-off mats, and Venetian blinds. Additional responsibilities include provision of garbage receptacles, courtesy services, trash removal, recycling collection, glass surface cleaning, exterior trash pickup, servicing of environmental rooms, and window cleaning. All services must be performed quietly and orderly to avoid disturbing employees or visitors. The Contractor must coordinate work activities to prevent interference with Government business or other contractors. All workmanship must meet quality standards acceptable to the Government; deficiencies must be corrected immediately at no additional cost upon notification. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at various facilities within the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), including but not limited to Rall Building (Building 101), Facilities Engineering (Building 102), Warehouse Office Areas (Building 104), Central Utility Plant (Building 105), Incinerator (Building 106), Waste Holding Facility (Building 108), Building 110 Warehouse & Security Facilities.
