Background The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is conducting market research to identify small businesses capable of providing graphic design services as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW). The Division of Technical Resources (DTR), part of the Office of Research Facilities, oversees the design and construction documents for various biomedical laboratories and facilities. DTR aims to maintain high standards in its publications, which include the Design Requirements Manual, a comprehensive guide used nationally and internationally for specialized medical and scientific facilities. Work Details The contractor will provide graphic design services, specifically using InDesign and Adobe software, to update the Design Requirements Manual. This includes: 1) Full replacement of content in chapters 1, 6, and 7 and appendix L (approximately 330 pages), including relevant tables and imagery; 2) Addition of new appendices P and Q (17 pages); 3) General edits including updates to the master table of contents and errata from existing chapters; 4) Creation and maintenance of cross-references; 5) Production of a fully 508-compliant PDF for public distribution. The contractor must also ensure timely communication with NIH representatives, respond to inquiries within three business days, and submit drafts for review prior to final deadlines. Place of Performance The work will be performed at locations designated by the NIH.
