Background Nassau Health Care Corporation is seeking bids for a multi-year contract for Undertaker Services and Transfer of Remains. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary services related to the handling and transfer of remains, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for providing undertaker services which include but are not limited to: - The transfer of remains from designated locations, - Preparation of remains for burial or cremation, - Coordination with funeral homes, - Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the handling of deceased individuals. The contractor must ensure that all services are performed in a respectful and dignified manner. Period of Performance The contract will be effective for two years from the date of issuance, with an option to extend for an additional three years in one-year increments. The maximum duration including extensions can be up to five years and two months. Place of Performance Services will primarily be performed at Nassau University Medical Center located at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, New York 11554.
