Background

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support - Medical is seeking to establish Medical Freight Transportation (MFT) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts to ensure timely and reliable movement of medical materiel worldwide. The contracts will facilitate door-to-door delivery services for heavyweight shipments of medical freight exceeding 300 pounds, which is critical for supporting military operations and maintaining global mission readiness.

Work Details

The DLA requires the incorporation of sixteen additional shipping lanes to the existing nineteen lanes utilized under the current MFT IDIQ contracts. This expansion is essential to address emerging military operational requirements and improve shipment efficiency to areas in need. The additional lanes will enable direct delivery of medical supplies to support wounded, ill, or injured warfighters during contingency operations. Only current contracted CRAF transportation vendors under the MTF IDIQ can provide this necessary support without delays. The vendors possess specialized expertise and a proven track record in fulfilling these requirements, ensuring immediate capability and agility in mission readiness. The anticipated usage of these IDIQ contracts was initially unknown at the time of award, but it has been observed that the average use in transportation costs is projected to exceed the maximum contract value before completion, necessitating an increase in the total ceiling of the IDIQ contracts.

Period of Performance

The period of performance for each IDIQ contract will span three years from the date of award.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed worldwide, with specific emphasis on areas requiring direct medical supply deliveries.
