Work Details The contract involves the purchase of Vermeer BC 1800XL49VP woodchippers or functional equivalents. Key specifications include: 1. Capability to chip logs with a minimum diameter of 19 inches and slabs with a minimum width of 19 inches. 2. A 2,000-pound winch. 3. Complete remote-control system. 4. Instrument panel and emergency safety-stop switch at operator’s station. 5. Heavy-duty radiator with grill. 6. Swivel discharge chute with deflector. 7. Safety and maintenance decals. 8. A water-cooled diesel engine with a minimum of 170 HP that meets EPA emission standards. 9. Trailer specifications including electric brakes, safety chains, and a seven-pin flat prong RV electrical connector. Period of Performance The initial term of the contract will be three (3) years starting from the date of final contract execution, with potential extensions subject to mutual agreement. Place of Performance Delivery will occur at the NCDOT Fleet and Material Management Unit located at 4809 Beryl Road, Raleigh, NC 27606.
