Background The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking to procure 55-foot aerial bucket trucks over a five-year period. Work Details The contract involves the purchase of one 55-foot aerial bucket truck each year for five years. Each truck must feature: 1. The unit must be rear-mounted, over-center type, articulating with a one-man fiberglass bucket. 2. Compliance with OSHA, FMVSS, DOT, and ANSI A92.2 requirements including stability tests with outriggers down. 3. Truck chassis must be new, conventional cab with a minimum GVWR of 35,000 lbs., powered by a Cummins or Detroit Diesel engine rated at no less than 300 SAE gross horsepower and equipped with an Allison Model 3000 RDS 6-speed automatic transmission. 4. Hydraulic system capable of operating tools at approximately 5 gpm at 1800 psi. 5. Utility body constructed from cold rolled galvanneal steel, designed to withstand operational stresses and equipped with features such as water guards and flush-type door handles.
