Background The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is issuing this Invitation for Bid for the Mill/Fill and Overlay Recreation Road South of Wolf Creek in the Great Falls Area. The goal of this contract is to enhance the roadway through milling and overlaying, ensuring improved safety and usability for the public. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Mobilization - 1 Lump Sum; 2. Provide 6,643 Tons of 1/2" Commercial Plant Mix Grade S PG 64-28 or 58H-34; 3. Perform Cold Milling with an average depth of 15 inches over an estimated area of 68,934 Square Yards. All quantities are estimates and may vary based on actual site conditions. Period of Performance The contract work is scheduled to commence on January 9, 2026, and must be completed by January 29, 2026. Place of Performance The work will be performed on Recreation Road South of Wolf Creek in the Great Falls Area, Montana. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be registered with the Department of Labor and Industry under sections 39-9-201 and 39-9-204, MCA prior to contract execution. Bids must include a bid security if the total bid is $150,000 or greater, which should be based on 10% of the total bid/offer. Compliance with various requirements including Bid Security, Contract Performance Security, Owner's and Contractor's Protective Liability Insurance, Worker's Compensation Act, Prevailing Wage requirements, and others as specified in the solicitation is mandatory.
