Romo Replace GAC Filter Media

Background

The National Park Service, part of the United States Department of the Interior, is responsible for managing national parks and ensuring the preservation of natural and cultural resources. This contract aims to facilitate the periodic replacement of granulated activated carbon (GAC) filter media at Rocky Mountain National Park's water treatment facility, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations for public drinking water. Work Details: The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, tools, supplies, equipment, transportation, and supervision to perform the granulated activated carbon filter media exchange service at the Headquarters East (HQ East) water treatment plant (PWSID #CO0135685). The scope of work includes: - Removal and off-site disposal of spent activated carbon. - Refilling filter vessels with fresh granular activated carbon media. - Ensuring that all work and supplies meet or exceed federal and state requirements for public drinking water facilities. - Utilizing Calgon Carbon Filtrasorb 400 granulated activated carbon or an approved equivalent product that meets AWWA B604 standards for potable water and NSF/ANSI Standard 61. - The GAC material must be specifically developed for use in potable water filtration and suitable for removing dissolved organics, including compounds causing taste and odor problems as well as trihalomethanes (THMs). Period of Performance: Anticipated from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026. Place of Performance: Rocky Mountain National Park, specifically at the Headquarters East water treatment plant.
