The NYS African American History Commission (AAHC) has issued a recommendation within its thematic arena of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation to establish a year-round partnership with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) titled "Black History in Motion." The objective of the project is to create, display, recognize, celebrate and promote African American history, contributions, culture, and heritage - in and around New York City's public transit infrastructure. The project will utilize billboard placements, digital media, and other marketing spaces within MTA operated infrastructure and platforms. The MTA will oversee implementation of the project within the New York City's transit system in alignment with the AAHC recommendation.
