Background The County of Hennepin, located in Minnesota, is issuing a solicitation for the reconstruction of CSAH 51 (Sunset Drive) as part of their ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure. The project aims to enhance the roadway by converting the existing rural section into an urban section, which includes the installation of curb and gutter, sidewalks, and other necessary improvements. Work Details The project involves approximately 0.695 centerline miles of street reconstruction along CSAH 51, including: - Replacement of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main systems. - Construction of four retaining walls. - Installation of new street lighting along CSAH 51. Additionally, there will be a mill and overlay construction for 0.177 centerline miles along CSAH 19. The class of work includes grading, bituminous surfacing, storm sewer installation, sanitary sewer work, water main replacement, lighting installation, construction of rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB), retaining walls, and ADA improvements. Period of Performance The contract work is scheduled to begin after the bid opening on February 3, 2026, with an expected completion date set for January 8, 2027. Place of Performance The work will be performed on CSAH 51 between CSAH 15 and CSAH 19 and on CSAH 19 between CSAH 51 and Coffee Bridge within the Cities of Orono and Spring Park.
