Background

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) is planning to solicit proposals for a Firm-Fixed-Price contract aimed at constructing a new storage building for the Iowa City VA Health Care System. The goal of this contract is to enhance storage capabilities for essential supplies and equipment, thereby supporting the VA's mission to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans. Work Details: The project involves comprehensive design-build services for constructing a new storage building with an approximate footprint of 2,000 sq ft. Key tasks include: 1. Demolition of the existing storage building; 2. Repairing the foundation; 3. Constructing a new building equipped with temperature and humidity control monitoring systems for long-term storage of PPE, clean supplies, pandemic essentials, and IT equipment; 4. Removal of a vestibule from adjacent Building 1 and repairing the fa ade of Building 1 to accommodate the new construction.
