Maintenance agreement for 2 Oxford UltimMax 100 EDS and software

Summary (Newest Update)

Background The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing a maintenance agreement for 2 Oxford UltimMax 100 Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS) detectors and Aztec Live software. The USGS Alaska Volcano Observatory in Anchorage, AK, utilizes these detectors for research on Alaska volcanoes and data collection for the Alaska Science Center minerals group. The maintenance agreement is essential to ensure the continued operation and reliability of the SEM's analytical capabilities, as downtime or failure of the detectors would limit their utility. This contract aims to maintain the detectors according to manufacturer specifications and ensure valid data collection for quality management system (QMS) purposes. Work Details The service contract will cover routine maintenance, including software upgrades, and provide access to field engineers/support in case of unforeseen instrument malfunctions. The maintenance agreement includes: 1) One annual preventative maintenance field service engineer visit covering parts, labor, and travel expenses; 2) Priority response for technical support during standard business hours; 3) Labor and travel expenses for additional field visits needed; 4) Repair of malfunctioning or damaged detectors, including loaner detectors while repairs are conducted; 5) Software updates for Aztec Live and other components. Period of Performance One year from award date Place of Performance USGS Alaska Volcano Observatory, 4230 University Drive, Suite 100, Anchorage, Alaska 99508
