Background The State of Michigan, through its Department of Technology, Management and Budget, is issuing a contract for the Carson City Correctional Facility to install a new grease trap. This project aims to enhance the facility's waste management system by replacing an existing interior grease trap and installing a new exterior underground grease trap. The Department of Corrections oversees this project as part of their commitment to maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with health regulations. Work Details The scope of work includes: 1) Removal of the existing interior grease trap; 2) Reworking the existing underground sanitary system inside the Food Service Building; 3) Installation of a new exterior underground grease trap; 4) Installation of new sanitary piping from the building to the grease trap and from the grease trap to an existing sanitary pipe. The contractor must use specified or approved materials only, with no substitutions allowed after bid opening. Period of Performance The contract is expected to be completed within 120 calendar days from the date of notice to proceed. Place of Performance Work will be performed at Carson City Correctional Facility located at 10274 E. Boyer Rd, Carson City, MI 48811. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide a performance bond and a payment bond for contracts over $50,000. Bids must include a five percent (5%) bid guarantee. Bidders are required to certify as either a Qualified Disabled Veteran (QDV) or Michigan-based business, providing necessary documentation such as DD214 proof of service for QDV status. Additionally, all subcontractors must have current State Project Registration.
