Background Lincoln Electric System (LES) is seeking bids to furnish and deliver 15kV EPR power cable as per their specifications. The goal of this contract is to procure high-quality power cable suitable for use in electric utility applications, specifically for a grounded-wye system at 60 Hz. Work Details The contractor will provide 10,000 feet of single conductor, 750 kcmil compressed stranded copper, 15 kV class III 133% ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) insulated power cable. The cable must meet the following specifications: - Suitable for direct buried installations in both wet and dry locations and in open air. - Comply with ICEA S-97-682-2023 and AEIC CS8-20 standards. - Central conductor must be annealed uncoated copper with Class B compressed concentric stranding. - Insulation must be thermosetting EPR, Class III, with specific thickness requirements as per standards. - Include a semiconducting or nonconducting conductor shield and a compatible insulation shield. - A metallic shield made of helically applied copper tape is required, allowing for short circuit performance of 8,000 amps for ten cycles. - Jacket material must be sunlight resistant Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE). - Each shipping reel must contain approximately 1,000 feet of cable and be durably sealed to prevent moisture ingress. Period of Performance The delivery date for the cable is to be specified by the bidder in their proposal, with an emphasis on timely delivery as an essential element of the contract.
