648-349 Construct Space for the Surgical Service Minor Construction - Portland, OR VAMC

Background

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) is planning to solicit bids for a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the construction of Project 648-349, which involves the Surgical Service Space Construction project at the Portland VA Health Care Center (VAHCS). The project aims to enhance healthcare facilities for veterans by expanding surgical service capabilities. Work Details: The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, supervision, and necessary work to complete the project. Key tasks include: - Preparing the site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures. - General construction tasks such as alterations, grading, drainage, and road/walk construction. - Expanding the 3rd floor of Building 100 onto the roof of the 2nd floor, approximately 3,760 square feet, to create operating room storage and expand the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). - Demolishing existing spaces including 1 office, 1 storage room, 1 staff toilet, 1 housekeeping aid closet, and 3 PACU bays. - Constructing new facilities including a large OR medical equipment storage area, a lead vest storage area, an ADA accessible staff toilet, a soiled utility room, two PACU medical equipment storage rooms, a clean utility storage room, a nourishment room, one PACU isolation bay, and five PACU open bays. - Expanding interstitial space above the new area and upgrading electrical, mechanical, plumbing and other utilities into this new space. Period of Performance: Approximately 625 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
