Background

The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a market survey to assess the interest and capability of vendors for a potential project related to rock block monitoring at Mount Rushmore National Monument in Keystone, SD. The goal of this project is to ensure the continuous operation of the rock block monitoring system, which is critical for maintaining the integrity of the monument. Work Details: The contractor shall provide all management, supervision, qualified personnel/labor, tools, replacement equipment, programming interfaces, materials, transportation and other items and services necessary to maintain the rock block monitoring system. Specific tasks include: - Maintaining operability of the entire monitoring system; - Providing a detailed annual report to the NPS Representative on the first day of the last month of the performance period; - Managing 12 monitoring locations with specific equipment configurations including stainless steel rods and invar rods; - Utilizing professional geological engineering staff to analyze and interpret monitoring results; - Configuring ENLIGHT software for proper data reporting; - Ensuring all team members have Rope Access certification through SPRAT; - Completing background investigations for personnel accessing secure areas; - Providing a detailed annual technical/scientific report based on data collected from strain gauges and temperature gauges.
