Steam Kettles

Background

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) at FCC Petersburg, located at 1100 River Road, Hopewell, VA, intends to award a contract for the provision of equipment and materials necessary to replace four kettles. The goal of this contract is to enhance the kitchen facilities at FCC Petersburg through the installation of new gas steam kettles, which will be supported by vendor training and warranty establishment.

Work Details

The contractor will provide four (4) 80-gallon hardwired gas steam kettles. The specifications for the kettles include: - Brand: Crown GL-80E or similar products - Features: - Prison package - Gas fired - Self-contained - Fully insulated steam jacketed - Spring assisted cover - 304 stainless steel exterior with #4 sanitary finish - Adjustable legs - One piece interior liner made of 316 stainless steel with #4 sanitary finish - 2" tangent draw off valve with strainer - Recessed control panel - Electronic ignition - Direct immersion thermostat - Water sight glass - Cooking light - Pressure gauge - Low water indicator light - Low water cut off - Pressure relief valve - Pressure switch Additional features include a heat resistant handle on the draw-off valve and a faucet bracket. The kettles must be capable of reaching and maintaining a temperature range of 165 degrees F to 265 degrees F and require a natural gas supply along with a 120V electrical feed.

Period of Performance

The period of performance for this contract is from November 12, 2025, to September 30, 2026.

Place of Performance

The products will be delivered to the Federal Bureau of Prisons at FCC Petersburg, located at 1060 River Road, Hopewell, VA.
