NRS Ansonia & Hamden, CT Snow and Ice Removal Services

Background

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking contractors to provide snow and ice removal services at its facilities located in Ansonia and Hamden, Connecticut. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe access and operational continuity during winter weather conditions by effectively managing snow and ice at these locations.

Work Details

The contractor is required to furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, supplies, and transportation necessary for snowplowing and ice removal services. Specific tasks include:

For Ansonia

Remove snow from the access road off Ford Street to the facility, clear the parking lot and driveways (including a path to the Regional Water Authority water tank), and maintain entry walkways for three buildings. Snow must be plowed to designated markers without obstructing walkways. Services must be provided before 7:00 AM from Monday to Saturday, and by 10:00 AM on Sundays for accumulations of 2.5 inches or more. Additional plowing may be required during ongoing snowfall events.

For Hamden

Clear snow from the facility driveway, upper and lower parking lots, and entry walkways (including the loading dock) for two buildings under similar timing requirements as Ansonia. Snow shall be salted/sanded when conditions warrant, based on requests from the Government Technical Monitor (GTM). The contractor must ensure no damage occurs to parked vehicles or structures during service.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed over multiple years with specific service dates coordinated with Forest Service staff in Ansonia and Hamden.
