Background

The U.S. Army, through the Army Contracting Command Red River Army Depot (ACC-RRAD), is focused on modernizing its Organic Industrial Base (OIB) to enhance capabilities in acquisition, sustainment, logistics, and overall modernization efforts. This initiative emphasizes the importance of advanced manufacturing technologies, termed Convergent Manufacturing, which include Agile facilities, digital enterprises, automation, and cybersecurity. The goal of this Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) is to solicit innovative solutions that will support these modernization efforts and improve operational results for the Warfighter.

Work Details

The CSO seeks innovative solutions for two Areas of Interest (AoIs):

1) Camera Monitoring System

The existing system consists of fourteen pole-mounted cameras around a one-mile test track used for operational testing of tactical vehicles. The current system is out of service due to lightning damage. Proposals should address options for replacing or refurbishing the entire camera monitoring system to restore functionality for monitoring vehicle traffic and recording incidents.

2) Fixture Removal BFVS Hull

This AoI focuses on developing a safer and more efficient system for removing fixtures from Bradley Fighting Vehicle System hulls made from 7017-aluminum alloy. Current methods involve tools that pose safety risks due to noise and repetitive stress. Proposals should aim to eliminate the use of chipping hammers and provide a solution that maintains hull integrity while improving worker safety and operational efficiency.
