Background

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) is planning to solicit bids for a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the Design-Bid-Build EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades Construction project at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Fort Meade, SD. The goal of this contract is to enhance the infrastructure supporting electronic health record management. Work Details: The project requires a general contractor to provide all necessary tools, labor, materials, equipment, permits, licenses, supervision, and quality control for EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades. Key tasks include: - Electrical panel upgrades and power enhancements (normal and emergency) - Bonding - UPS installation - Building Management System interfaces - Assessment and upgrades to existing HVAC systems - Reconfiguration and renovation of existing spaces including demolition and new construction - Relocation and upgrade of the Main Computer Room (MCR) Data Center with necessary patching and finishing work. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for communication infrastructure improvements such as new data outlets, patch panels, and upgrades to Cat 6A cable across various buildings. Physical security upgrades and assessment of fiber infrastructure campus-wide are also included. New construction will involve establishing new Telecommunication Rooms (TRs), relocating existing TR infrastructure to new TRs, reconfiguring spaces for new TRs, developing redundant fiber and data infrastructure for internal networks, creating a new fiber backbone external communication ring around the campus, establishing a new Main Computer Room (MCR), relocating existing IT office space, and installing a centralized UPS system. Period of Performance: Approximately 1,080 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance: 113 Commanche Rd., Bldg. 89 Fort Meade SD 57741
