Background

The U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) is issuing this solicitation for the replacement of FM-200 fire suppression cylinders aboard their vessels. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards while maintaining the functionality of fire suppression systems on U.S. Coast Guard vessels.

Work Details

The contractor shall provide all personnel, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision required to perform the FM-200 cylinder replacement. The work includes: 1. Pre-Work Requirements: Verify power to the fire suppression panel is secured and tagged out per USCG safety procedures; review system drawings and inspect existing components for compatibility with the replacement cylinder. 2. Removal of Existing Cylinder: Safely remove the expired cylinder following EPA guidelines; transport and dispose of or return the old cylinder according to environmental regulations. 3. Installation of New FM-200 Cylinder: Provide and install a new FM-200 cylinder as specified by OEM; connect discharge piping and verify all fittings are torqued to specifications. 4. System Commissioning: Check system pressure, agent weight, and cylinder date codes. Deliverables include a Certificate of Installation, updated cylinder tag, system test report, and material certifications.
