The Regional Maintenance Center at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) is conducting market research to determine industry capability and interest in performing Gun Drilling/Machining services of provided metal bar stock.
Interested companies should submit, on company letterhead, a notice of interest including the name, telephone number, mailing address, and e-mail address of one point of contact. Please hand or digitally sign your letter of interest and e-mail it to the Government contacts listed below, with "BRR-6 Gun Drilling/Machine Services Sources Sought Response" in the subject field. The notice of interest should include a brief description of your company and its capabilities as they relate to the requirements set forth in the description shown above, and answers to the following specific questions. Please limit your response to no more than 5 pages. 1. Is your company a small or large business as defined by the Small Business Administration (SBA) under NAICS code 332710? 2. Does your company have a satisfactory performance record for the type of work required? Please provide examples of relevant and recent (within three years) past performance. 3. Does your company provide similar services to the general public under terms and conditions similar to those offered to the federal Government? 4. Given the work described in this announcement, does your company plan to submit a proposal in response to the anticipated solicitation for the Thermal Spray package? 5. Based off the Draft Performance Work Statement (attached), please provide an estimate for lead time of this requirement. 6. Based off the Draft Performance Work Statement (attached), please provide an estimate for the cost of this requirement, including shipping costs. This is only to support Market Research, and no contractors will be held to estimates provided in response to this sources sought. The referenced Engineering Memorandum cannot be provided until a solicitation is posted.

Telephonic inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, the government will not be providing evaluations or comments to companies providing sources sought responses but the responses will be used to inform the government as to the best means of procuring this requirement.
Background The Regional Maintenance Center at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) is conducting market research to determine industry capability and interest in performing Gun Drilling/Machining services of provided metal bar stock. This contract aims to support the manufacture of a BRR-6B Drum shaft for TRF Bangor Shop Spare. Work Details The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to perform Gun Drilling/Machining services as defined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The specific tasks include: 1. Gun Drilling/Machining of provided metal bar stock in accordance with EM 410/270M-23 REV-B. 2. Documenting all internal measurements as specified in enclosure-2 of EM 410/270M-23 REV-B. The contractor will not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services. The contractor is responsible for maintaining an adequate workforce for uninterrupted performance and must safeguard all Government equipment, information, and property provided. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the contract will be performed (if provided). Place of Performance The work will be performed at the contractor's facility. Bidder Requirements Bidders must demonstrate a satisfactory performance record for similar work within the last three years and provide examples of relevant past performance. Additionally, bidders should confirm if they provide similar services to the general public under terms comparable to those offered to the federal Government.
