2026 Street Overlay and Paving Improvements Labor and Materials Construction

Background

The City of Brandon is issuing a solicitation for a General Contract to furnish all labor and materials necessary for the construction of the 2026 Street Overlay and Paving Improvements Project. The project aims to enhance existing roadways and improve infrastructure as part of the city's ongoing commitment to maintaining and upgrading public facilities.

Work Details

The project includes base repairs, milling, overlaying, and curb & gutter repair on approximately 7.2 miles of existing paved streets. Additionally, it involves paving one newly constructed unpaved roadway and chip sealing the existing trail system. All associated work required to complete the project as specified in the plans and contract documents is also included.

Period of Performance

The contract time is Ninety (90) consecutive calendar days from the date of notice to proceed, with liquidated damages of One Thousand Dollars ($1000) per calendar day thereafter for delays.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in Brandon, Mississippi, specifically on various streets within the city limits as outlined in the project specifications.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State Law and must show a Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are encouraged to bid as prime contractors and inquire about subcontracting opportunities.
