Background

The City of Gautier, Mississippi is issuing a solicitation for sealed bids for the General Construction of the Historic Schoolhouse Renovation, Phase 2. The project aims to enhance the historic schoolhouse, demonstrating progress to the community and paving the way for future phases.

Work Details

The scope of work for Phase 2 includes: weatherproofing the exterior structure, securing all entrances, and applying a fresh coat of paint. Specific tasks include selective demolition, replacement of all doors and windows (currently covered with plywood to prevent rain damage and unauthorized access), and necessary repairs to facilitate lead paint remediation. This phase is crucial for showcasing ongoing improvements to the schoolhouse.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid bond, certified check or cashier’s check equal to 5% of the total base bid. A Non-Collusion Affidavit is required with each bid. Bidders must have a current valid Certificate of Responsibility from the Mississippi State Board of Contractors or an equivalent from another state. Additionally, bidders must include a Standard Questionnaire and Financial Statement as required by Mississippi Law.
