Background

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #10A2917 for Pest Control Services across various locations in Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Merced, Mariposa, Tuolumne, Calaveras, Amador, and Alpine Counties. The goal of this contract is to ensure effective pest management in compliance with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all necessary labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, travel, and incidentals to perform routine, semi-annual, and special pest control services. Specific services include: 1. Interior and exterior pest abatement/elimination of various pests such as rats, mice, mites, roaches, hornets, wasps, sow bugs, bedbugs, gnats, centipedes, millipedes, fleas, lice, silverfish, cluster flies, spiders, and ants. 2. Exclusions apply to birds, bats and termites which will incur additional charges as special services. 3. Services are to be performed at designated maintenance stations including Modesto MS and Stockton MS among others as detailed in the bid proposal.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to last for the duration specified in the final agreement following the bid evaluation process.

Services will be performed at various locations within Stanislaus County and surrounding counties including San Joaquin County and Merced County.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must meet several qualifications: 1. Must be registered with the California Department of Consumer Affairs' Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB). 2. Employees/subcontractors must possess a valid Field Representative or Operator license from SPCB. 3. All onsite staff must have a Structural Pest Control Applicator certificate from SPCB. 4. Bidders must maintain a current registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). 5. Small Business (SB) participation is encouraged with a goal of 25%. DVBE participation is encouraged but not required.
