Sealed bids will be received by the Davidson County School System at the Davidson County Schools Maintenance Department located at 250 County School Rd, Lexington, NC 27292 on June 22nd for multiple projects including East Davidson High School, Brown Middle School, South Davidson High School, Southwood Elementary School, and Northwest Elementary School. The work involves the furnishing of labor, material, and equipment. Bids will be accepted for single-prime, mechanical contractor with all proposals being lump sum. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for June 17, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM outside the main office building at East Davidson High School. Following this, meetings will occur at Brown Middle School, South Davidson High School, Southwood Elementary School, and Northwest Elementary School at specified times. This meeting is for all interested bidders and vendors. Complete plans, specifications, and contract documents will be available for inspection at the office of Consultant Engineering Service, Inc. located at 1111 S. Marshall Street, Suite 250, Winston Salem, NC 27101. Questions regarding the project should be directed to the Engineer. Prime contractors can obtain electronic copies of the Bidding Documents by emailing lindsey@ceseng.net. Bidders are required to use complete sets of Bidding Documents when preparing their bids, as the Owner and Engineer are not responsible for errors resulting from incomplete sets. All contractors must have the proper licenses as required by state laws. Bidders must identify minority business participation in their proposals, and failure to complete the required forms may lead to rejection of the bid. Each proposal must be accompanied by a cash deposit or certified check of at least five percent (5%) of the proposal, or a bid bond of the same amount. This deposit will be retained as liquidated damages if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract within ten days or provide satisfactory surety. A performance bond and a payment bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Payment will be made based on ninety-five percent (95%) of monthly estimates, with final payment upon completion and acceptance of work. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the closing time for bids. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
