Background

The City of Lawrenceville is seeking competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the demolition of three properties located at 43, 39, and 31 East Crogan Street, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. The goal of this contract is to safely and efficiently demolish the specified structures while adhering to local regulations and standards.

Work Details

The contractor will perform the following major tasks: 1. Secure the perimeter according to the International Building Code and install erosion control measures around the job site. 2. Completely demolish and remove all building structures including floor slabs, drains, lifts, footpaths, septic tanks (if any), debris, drums, containers, used ASTSs, signs, junk and trash removal, trees (if in conflict with demolition), shrubs, and other components inside and outside the main buildings. Concrete driveway demolition and sidewalk/curb & gutter/landscape strip installation are included as bid alternates. 3. Grade, backfill & compact disturbed areas to ensure proper drainage (approximately a 1% grade) and apply seed and straw after site disturbance. 4. Properly dispose of all demolition debris in accordance with Georgia's Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act of 1990 and related regulations. Period of Performance

The work must be completed within 30 consecutive calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at three locations: 43 East Crogan Street, 39 East Crogan Street, and 31 East Crogan Street in Lawrenceville, GA.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a five percent (5%) bid bond with their submission. Successful contractors will need to furnish a one hundred percent (100%) performance bond and payment bond along with an insurance certificate that meets specified requirements. Contractors must have an AM Best rating of A-5 or greater for their surety and insurance companies. Additionally, bidders must provide proof of a State of Georgia Asbestos Abatement License if they will be performing asbestos abatement.
