Background

The City of Corpus Christi is seeking qualified firms to provide grounds maintenance services for the Garcia, Harte, and McDonald libraries. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the library grounds are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing for the community.

Work Details

The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, transportation, tools, materials, and equipment necessary for the completion of the following services: 1. Preparation Work: Remove all trash and debris from the grounds before and after services are performed. 2. Mowing and Trimming: Provide mowing and trimming services using appropriate equipment; trim around trees, shrubs, beds, fences, and other obstacles. 3. Edging: Provide edging services between grass areas and sidewalks. 4. Fertilizing and Pesticides: Fertilize grass, trees, shrubs, beds with slow-releasing fertilizer; apply organic or conventional pesticides as needed. 5. Mulching and Decomposed Granite Maintenance: Install or replace hardwood mulch and decomposed granite as required. 6. Pruning: Prune existing shrubs and hedges as necessary. 7. Weed Control: Use herbicides and hand labor to control weeds in landscaped areas. 8. Tree Trimming: Trim oak trees to maintain clearance over sidewalks and streets; trim palm trees twice a year; provide tree stump removal as needed.

Period of Performance

The term of this contract will be for one year with four one-year options at the City's sole discretion.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at multiple locations in Corpus Christi, Texas including: - Dr. Clotilde P. Garcia Library (5930 Brockhampton Street) - Janet F. Harte Public Library (2629 Waldron Road) - Ben F. McDonald Public Library (4044 Greenwood Drive).

Bidder Requirements

The Contractor must meet the City’s Insurance Requirements prior to executing work under this agreement.
