Work Details

The project involves constructing four 12' x 16' covered overlook platforms at two ponds (Oleander Pond and Amphitheater Pond) with ADA-compliant walkways. Specific details include:

Oleander South

1 platform with a connected walkway (5' wide, 120' long).

Oleander North

1 platform with a connected walkway (5' wide, 120' long).

Amphitheater South

1 platform with a connected walkway (5' wide, 50' long).

Amphitheater North

1 platform with a connected walkway (5' wide, 10' long). Additionally, approximately 1,000 linear feet of fencing will be installed, including one manually operated self-closing gate. The fencing must match the platforms and walkways and be constructed from PVC coated wire mesh with an angled top plate. Material specifications include Wear Deck materials provided by JIA for decking and stainless-steel screws/hardware for construction.

Period of Performance

The project must be completed and final billed by January 31, 2027.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in and along two ponds within Jekyll Island’s new wildlife conservation corridor.
