Background

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is seeking to secure a vendor to supply low-sugar dried cranberries for its Food & Nutrition Department. The goal of this contract is to provide healthy snack options made exclusively from cranberries grown and harvested in Massachusetts, specifically in two flavors: Fruit Punch and Raspberry Lemonade.

Work Details

The vendor will provide low-sugar dried cranberries made only with cranberries grown and harvested in Massachusetts. The specific flavors required are Fruit Punch and Raspberry Lemonade. The contract will be executed under a Fee for Service or Outright Purchase model, with the possibility of awarding the procurement to either a single vendor or multiple vendors based on what is deemed in the best interest of the Commonwealth.

Period of Performance

The initial duration of the contract will commence upon approval and extend until June 30, 2027. There are options for up to four renewals, each lasting a maximum of 12 months, potentially extending the contract through June 30, 2031.

Place of Performance

The products will be delivered to locations specified by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education within Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate sufficient warehouse space and transportation capabilities to meet delivery requirements. They must also provide a product specification sheet for the requested items, possess a current license as per Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 94, Section 305 C, and have established food safety plans including a Continuity of Operations Plan, Food Defense Plan, and Food Recall Procedures.
