Background

The State of Maryland, through the State Highway Administration (MDOT-SHA), is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure maintenance services including brush and tree clearing, as well as spraying services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the maintenance and safety of state highways in Montgomery County by removing unwanted vegetation and debris that could obstruct traffic or pose hazards.

Work Details

The contractor will provide comprehensive tree and brush removal and landscape services for MDOT SHA located in Montgomery County. Specific tasks include: - Clearing and maintenance work at state highways, including removal of brush, trees, litter, grass, debris, and nuisance weeds/vines. - Flush cutting and removing leaning or dead trees away from the pavement edge with a clearance area of 4 to 14 feet from the edge of the pavement on both sides of all eight ramps. - Providing wall cut, underbrush removal, spraying, and grass mowing/trimming services. - Cleaning areas of all debris upon completion of work. - All work must be performed during specified hours (7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday). - The contractor must provide all necessary equipment including trucks, hydraulic lifts, chipper machines, chainsaws, mowers, herbicide applicators, and other specialized tools.

Period of Performance

The contract is anticipated to commence in mid-June 2026 and will have a duration not to exceed two years.

The contract will be performed primarily in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Bidder Requirements

This procurement is designated as a Small Business Reserve Procurement; only certified small business vendors are eligible for award.
