Christopher Newport University (CNU), a four-year public university in Newport News, Virginia, is seeking bids for the furnishing, delivery, and installation of furniture, furnishings, and equipment for its renovated Admissions Welcome Center. The university enrolls 5,000 students and emphasizes leadership, civic engagement, and honor in its academic programs. This Invitation for Bid (IFB) aims to solicit qualified sources to fulfill these needs.

Work Details

The contractor is required to provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, and incidentals necessary to furnish and install the specified items. Compliance with Virginia OSHA Standards and the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Codes is mandatory. The work includes: - Delivery of all items directly to the designated installation location without intermediate stops. - Use of delivery vehicles equipped with a lift gate due to the absence of a loading dock at the delivery site. - Collection and proper disposal of all packaging materials and debris generated during installation. - Installation must leave the area clean and free of trash. - Bidders must specify anticipated lead times for each item in their pricing schedule.

Period of Performance

The contract performance period begins upon award and continues until all items are delivered and installed satisfactorily. Bids are due by June 25, 2026.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a Small Business Subcontracting Plan as part of their proposal. They are encouraged to subcontract with DSBSD-certified small businesses including women-owned and minority-owned businesses. Bidders must be registered in eVA (Virginia's electronic procurement system) and comply with all applicable laws regarding business operations in Virginia.
