Water Testing Services for Buckingham Correctional Center

Background

The Commonwealth of Virginia, through its Department of Corrections, is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to establish a requirements contract for water testing services at the Buckingham Correctional Center Water Treatment Plant. The goal is to ensure compliance with environmental standards by testing water samples from the facility. The contractor must be certified by the Virginia Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (VELAP) through the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

Work Details

The contractor shall perform the following tests on water samples: 1) Biochemical Oxygen Demand - 6 tests per week (2 samples, 3 times weekly); 2) Total Suspended Solids - 1 test per month; 3) Ammonia, as N - 6 tests per week (2 samples, 3 times weekly); 4) Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen - 3 tests per week; 5) Total Hardness - 1 test per month; 6) Copper, Total - 1 test per month; 7) Escherichia coli - 3 tests per week; 8) Courier Pick Up Fee - charged for daily pickups, three times a week. Samples will be collected by Buckingham Correctional Center personnel and delivered to the Fluvanna Correctional Center pickup location three times a week.

Period of Performance

The contract period will be for one year from the date of award, with potential for renewal.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at Buckingham Correctional Center and Fluvanna Correctional Center in Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be Virginia Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program Certified (VELAP). Additionally, this solicitation is set-aside for DSBSD-certified micro businesses or small businesses. Bidders must also register in eVA to submit bids.
