Background The USGS Wetland and Aquatic Research Center (WARC) is responsible for providing scientific research and information throughout the Southeastern United States and beyond. The center conducts research in laboratories that utilize corrosive chemicals, necessitating the installation of safety showers in compliance with American National Standards Institute - ANSI Z358.1-2014 regulations. This contract aims to procure safety showers to ensure safety standards are met within laboratory environments. Work Details The contract requires the purchase of two (2) self-contained emergency safety showers, which must include integrated eye and face wash units. The showers must be ANSI compliant and feature an all-in-one enclosed combination cubicle design with a sump pump for indoor use. Specific technical requirements include: - Exterior cubicle dimensions: 94.8” H x 40.2” W x 41.3” D - Minimum operating pressure: 29 PSI (SHOWER) - Water flow rate: 20 gallons per minute, hands-free after initial activation - Sump pump specifications: ¼ HP with 120 V electrical - Full-length plastic strip screen to minimize water spray outside the cubicle - Internally mounted eye/face wash with a flow rate of at least 3 gallons per minute - Internal piping made of stainless steel.
